While database management may not exactly be the most exciting prospect for a lot of college students, they should not ignore the opportunities provided in Oracle careers, especially those for Oracle consultants. Oracle is considered by many to be the premier data management software for businesses, and Oracle consultants can make a considerable amount more than some of their IT counterparts.
The software got its start in 1979 as a data management program, which was rather limited.
But its feature set expanded quite quickly and now Oracle has versions on all major operating systems and in dozens of iterations for home, and small and large scale business use. As a result, there are many openings in Oracle careers for potential Oracle consultants that can navigate the imposing management techniques and different versions.
